World Wide Web Access: Disability Discrimination Act

These notes will assist you to develop web pages that are compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. Accessible web design produces pages that can be read by everyone and that includes people with disabilities who are likely to be disadvantaged by some design practices.

The notes identify issues in web design related to accessibility, and equal access. For example, people who distrubute information only in pdf format with no attempt to make the same information available in another format, are liable for complaints under this act. PDF documents are inaccessible to people who are vision impaired.  The notes also spell out the limits of compliance.
