Evaluating the cost-effectiveness of an e-learning system
How do you know if that expensive contract for e-learning is really worth it? Les Allan from AXA discusses how he set about measuring this. This article is full of statistics and tips that may help you do this yourself.

The major recommendation was "that managers document a Learning Contract with the staff member before undertaking a course of study". Most participants expressed the need for human contact during and after the learning experience. Critical success factors for effective e-learning are discussed.

The article concludes that "Experience with the controlled pilot indicated that for e-learning to be effective, each course of study needs to be integrated within a total learning-business context".
