101 Ideas, collected from experienced LearnScope participants, on how to survive a work based learning project have been narrowed down to twelve "top tips" to ensure your LearnScope project thrives. - Find someone for support and assistance ... someone to complain to, share joys with and connect with!!
- Remember that this is about learning, therefore people will make mistakes. Welcome them as opportunities to grow.
- Recognise the achievements of all team members.
- Don't underestimate the time you'll need to do everything. Make sure you build in enough time to enjoy the journey and really absorb what's happening.
- Keep a diary - you'll be amazed at how much you forget if you don't.
- Communicate achievements to all staff in your organisation (including your Manager).
- Have a contingency plan.
- Formalise the beginning. At the first workshop/meeting, use name-tags, personalised folders etc.
- Be flexible.
- Make up a monthly newsletter and send it to everyone
- Become passionate about the project. But do not allow passion to narrow your tunnel of vision.
- Find a mentor to offer support.
