Based on ASTD's 2001 State of the Industry Report, this article looks at the new roles available to e-trainers and what that may mean for 'stand and deliver' trainers. It examines the new skills required and takes a critical look at the 'promises' of online learning.

It concludes that "the Web is changing what trainers do, but training is not at all dead. Instead, to survive the new e-world, training is evolving, as are trainers"
