Building Virtual Communities for Professional Development
This article starts with a long digression into the differences between classical music and jazz. The point being made is that teachers should act less like members of the orchestral section and more like jazz musicians.

The lag between technologies that are incorporated into use within business/cultural environments and those that are used in schools as tools for learning seems to increase. How can teachers learn these skills? The internet holds the key to allowing collaborative learning and experiencing firsthand what teachers desire for their students. An imaginative scenario shows how this might be achieved in the future. Ferdi Serim also discusses a project to achieve this scenario at http://oii.org/

An inspiring article!
