Online Readiness Resource List

Our Learnscope team’s exploration of online learning  and the role of the support person has raised more questions than we can answer at this stage but it has provided the basis of lively discussion and analysis of current practices in online education provision. As we ask our learners to commit to a comprehensive change in teaching and learning methodology, what supports have we put in place to facilitate this change? And who supports those who moderate, mentor and assist?

To help us in our quest to provide valuable support to both learners and facilitators we have evaluated and compiled a list of useful websites using a rating of 1 (poor) to 5 (great) of the following criteria for each site:

Usefulness: to support a student or a lecturer

Navigability: how easy is it to steer your way around?

Hardware and software sophistication: will most learners be able to access the site?

Design: will it appeal to the learner?

Language, literacy, equity accessibility

Good pedagogy: does it teach well?

The SOS Online Readiness Resource List which will be amended or added to as new websites emerge.
