PHP is a server-side, cross-platform, HTML embedded scripting language. What is particularly exciting about this technology is that it is open source, which means that you are free to use it. Just download it and install it on your Web server. With the PHP scripting you can create quizzes, tests, polls and database (MySQL) driven applications.

A word of caution, though. Learning a scripting language like PHP is for advanced users only. If you are completely new to PHP and want to get some idea of how it works, it might be a good idea to have a look at the introductory tutorial.
