PowerPoint is becoming more and more user friendly and is chosen by many practitioners as their ‘cool tool’ for those important presentations. Yes, I know that there is still the fear of ‘death by PowerPoint’, however PowerPoint still remains as the most frequently used presentation tool. It’s a really good idea to check out how to make the best use of it for your own classroom or conference presentations. Try these free, web-based and printable tutorials.

At the Microsoft website you can download tutorials and access the latest updates and add-ons for PowerPoint.

PowerPoint 2002 Tutorial

This set of web-based lessons provides a scenario based learning environment where you get to follow instructions in creating PowerPoint slides to suit the scenario.

At this site you can access Data Files to use in your tutorials and you can download the tutorials for storing on your desktop.

This is a really neat little tutorial for PowerPoint 98 that you can activate in your browser or download in printable format.

When you enter the site for PowerPoint in the Classroom you’ll be introduced to the characters Jim Jingle and Sue Special they take you on a talk show tour of PowerPoint's unique features and abilities. Just to tweak your memory, the tutorial includes a quiz question at the end of each new section. You'll also get a kick out of the Cool For School page, which gives you extra tips and tricks for using PowerPoint in the classroom.

The 8 lessons are called:
